The aviation industry continues to experience a significant surge in flight activities, passengers, air cargo, and mail. November 2023 witnessed notable increases in all three categories compared to the same period the previous year.

As per the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, aircraft movements in the country rose by 7% last month compared to November 2022.

The Authority recently shared the latest Preliminary Airport Transport Statistics on X, revealing impressive figures for November 2023. Qatar recorded 22,195 aircraft movements during the month, a notable increase from the 20,746 movements reported in November 2022.

Passenger numbers also exhibited substantial growth, with a 23.2% increase in November 2023 compared to the same month in the previous year. The authority reported 3.9 million air travelers in November 2023, up from 3.2 million passengers in November 2022.

Furthermore, air cargo and mail experienced a significant uptick of 13.2%, reaching 210,484 tonnes in November 2023 compared to 185,926 tonnes in the same month in 2022.

October 2023 saw a 23.1% increase in flight movements, totaling 22,686 flights compared to October 2022. Passenger numbers also surged by 27.1%, exceeding 4 million passengers in October 2023, compared to 3 million in the same period the previous year. Air cargo and mail increased by 10.2% to 213,398 tonnes in October 2023.

In September 2023, air passenger numbers recorded a remarkable 26.1% increase, reaching nearly 4 million compared to September 2022.

The year was marked by robust flight movements and increased passenger arrivals, attributed to Qatar hosting major events such as Expo Qatar 2023 and international conferences. Decisions like the extension of the Hayya Visa for one year contributed to attracting more visitors.

With the upcoming AFC Asian Cup tournament, the Ministry of Interior extended the validity of the Hayya visa until February 24, 2024. Qatar's air passenger traffic has seen remarkable growth, making it a key hub for travelers connecting between Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Hamad International Airport's continuous expansion and award-winning services have solidified its position as the 'Best Airport in the Middle East' for the seventh consecutive year, as recognized by the Global Traveler’s 20th annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards.

The airport offers passengers a diverse range of experiences, housed in a state-of-the-art facility that has become a true architectural and tropical masterpiece.
