Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 198 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 211 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 125,584. 

Out of the 198 new cases, 174 are community cases and 24 from travelers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 128,603 and there are 2,799 active cases under treatment. So far, 220 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 6,173 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 849,738 tests. There 63 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 408.

Five patients was admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 57.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

- Wearing a face mask.

- Washing hands regularly
