
Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 235 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 212 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 126,218.
The Ministry also conducted 8,621 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 869,857 tests.
It also announced the death of a 70-year-old who was receiving the necessary medical care.
Out of the 235 new cases, 195 are community cases and 40 from travelers returning from abroad.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 129227 and there are 2,786 active cases under treatment. So far, 223 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
There 40 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital 394.
Four patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 52.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly
