
Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 168 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 216 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 136,306.
Out of the 168 new cases, 150 are community cases and 18 from travellers returning from abroad.
The Ministry also announced one death - aged 67 years old - who was receiving the necessary medical care.
So far, 238 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 139,001 and there are 2,457 active cases under treatment.
3,651 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (9,033 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,116,081 tests.
There are 27 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 260.
Three patients were admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical attention in intensive care currently to 30.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
