
Hamad International Airport (DOH) announced that Chinese airline Xiamen Airlines has begun new operations to the award-winning airport from Beijing and Xiamen, China as part of its partnership with Qatar Airways.
A daily flight from Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) to Doha's Hamad International Airport began on 20 October 2023. The aircraft is a Boeing 787-9 with a total of 287 seats.
Xiamen's second route to Doha's Hamad International Airport started on 31 October 2023 with two flights per week. The aircraft in operation is a Boeing 787-9 with 287 seats.
Xiamen Airlines was founded in 1984 and is the first airline in China to operate independently. The airline operates nearly 400 domestic and international routes from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Fuzhou Changle International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport – with 3,500 to 4,000 flights per week carrying nearly 40 million passengers per year.
With its extensive global network, Xiamen Airlines' new services from Beijing Daxing International Airport and Xiamen to Hamad International Airport will contribute significantly to accommodating the expected increase in traffic, strengthening the airport's reputation as a preferred hub for Chinese tourists.
