
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it is building a field hospital with a capacity of 150 beds, with all the required equipment and supplies.
Ashghal is also building a shaded space with the capacity of 8,000 beds, with all the required equipment and supplies, Ashghal has tweeted releasing its action plan including many measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The Authority said that it temporarily suspended services for dewatering and tanker permits for next three months. Current permit holders may continue their operations without renewing expired permits within this period.
Ashghal holds direct visit to Customer Services offices and encourages their customers to benefit from e-services or contact Call Center 188 to avail the services.
Implementing the Prime Minister’s decision to reduce the number of employees present at workplace to 20 percent of the total number of employees, while 80 percent working from home, the Authority is providing the employees with electronic devices to enable them to carry on the work.
Ashghal has established an event management team in the Assets Affairs to be able to follow the developments of the coronavirus and conduct the work accordingly.
Ashghal has also urged companies and contractors to partake in community service. Ashghal ambassadors participate in volunteer work with Qatar Charity in the face of the coronavirus.
The Authority has held an awareness session to prevent spreading the virus, targeted towards companies and contractors working on Ashghal’s project. It conducts meeting via voice/video conferencing.
Ashghal provides medical masks to workers and obliging them to wear them. It provides food and personal necessities to workers to avoid the going out after work.
