On Monday, Qatar and other Arab and Muslim countries strongly condemned the shelling of the Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza (QCRG) headquarters by Israeli occupation forces.
According to Qatar, the bombing is in direct violation of international law and a continuation of the occupation army's targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure including hospitals, schools, population centers and refugee shelters.
A bombing at the headquarters of the QCRG is an extension of the policy of targeting civilians. "Through its projects, the committee has alleviated the suffering of the besieged Gaza Strip population caused by the long blockade and ongoing aggression," said Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It emphasized that the international community must hold Israel accountable for its repeated crimes against civilians and civilian infrastructure and pressure it to comply with international law.
Additionally, the Ministry asked Israeli occupation forces to stop providing insubstantial justifications for targeting civilian facilities and health institutions.
The GCC, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, and the Gulf Cooperation Council issued statements condemning the bombing late Monday.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the 'blatant aggression by occupation forces' against the Qatari committee's headquarters and expressed solidarity with Doha. They also urged the international community to immediately put an end to ‘violations committed by the occupation authorities.’
To prevent further bloodshed, the UAE condemned the Israeli attack and called for an immediate cease-fire.
Kuwait's Foreign Ministry also condemned the bombing, describing it as a 'crime' and a 'heinous act.' It called on the international community to end these Israeli violations carried out under transparent pretexts and lies.
Omani Foreign Ministry expressed horror at the bombing of Qatari facility and expressed solidarity with Doha.
According to Egypt, the targeting of the headquarters constitutes a 'new blatant extension of Israeli violations.' It expressed solidarity with Qatar against the 'heinous attack.'
According to the Foreign Ministry of Jordan, the bombing was a 'reprehensible war crime' that added to Israel's criminal history.
GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al Budaiwi condemned the Israeli bombing, calling it "further evidence of occupation forces' brutality and recklessness."
Likewise, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned the bombing, deeming it part of an ongoing campaign of military aggression against Palestinian civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza.
