Qatari ministries have been making their services fully digital, thereby making them more accessible and helpful to people.

The Ministry of Labour (MoL) unveiled a new fully digital service on Wednesday - Request to Join the Labour Market (Change from Family Residency to Work Residency).

Private enterprises in Qatar can benefit from the service. The new service will make it simpler for companies to hire local residents, instead of having to spend money and resources recruiting from abroad.

In contrast, it will provide residents with more employment opportunities and enable them to participate more actively in the local labor market.

MoL presented the new service during a seminar jointly hosted by the Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and the Ministry of Labor.

According to local media, Salem Darwish Al Muhannadi, Head of the Work Permits Section at MoL's Employment Department, provided participants with detailed information about MoL services, focusing on two services - Request to Amend Occupations on Work Permits and Attestation of Work Contracts.

Adding about 25 fully digital services to the MoL for entrepreneurs aligned with the digital transformation in the labor sector, Al Muhannadi said.

"Our ultimate goal is to streamline, expedite and enhance the customer journey in order to strengthen a more efficient and effective support system for all stakeholders," he said.

The seminar was attended by representatives of MoL's Work Permits, Labour Relations, Inspection, Labour Disputes, and National Workforce in the Private Sector departments.
