
The Ministry of Public Health has issued guidance on vaccination requirements for those traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. The guidance outlines mandatory and recommended vaccinations.
The ministry states that the conjugate quadrivalent (ACWY) vaccine for meningococcal meningitis is mandatory for all individuals ages 1 year and above. For those ages 6 - 12 months, vaccines can be administered twice, two months apart.
The ministry also provided its recommended vaccines for seasonal influenza for ages 6 months and above, the pneumococcal vaccine for individuals ages 65 and above as well as high-risk persons, and the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine for all individuals ages 12 and above.
The Hajj pilgrimage for 2024 is expected to commence on 14 June and continue until 19 June 2024.
