Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 246 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 239 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 114,797. 

Out of the 246 ​new cases, 230 are community cases and 16 from travelers returning from abroad.

On August 26, MoPH reported 244 ​new confirmed cases of Covid-19. 230 of these were from community cases and 14 from travelers returning from abroad

Ministry announced one new death of a person aged 83, who were receiving medical care.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 117,988 and there are 2996 active cases under treatment. So far, 194 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 5146 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 609258 tests. There are 42 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Seven patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 66.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

Adherence to physical distancing.

Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

Wearing a face mask.

Washing hands regularly.
