
Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 160 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 229 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 138,719.
Out of the 160 new cases, 133 are community cases and 27 from travellers returning from abroad.
One person died dues to Covid-19 taking the total death toll in Qatar to 241.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 141,121 and there are 2,161 active cases under treatment.
4,912 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,088 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,171,929 tests.
There are 25 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 249.
No one was admitted to intensive care, and 21 people are receiving medical attention in intensive care.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
