Qatar Reported 140 New Cases Of COVID-19 And 201 Recoveries On Dec 17

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 140 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 201 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 139,243.

Out of the 140 new cases, 105 are community cases and 35 from travellers returning from abroad.

The total death in Qatar as of today is 242.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

 

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 141,557 and there are 2,072 active cases under treatment.

5,266 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (16,104 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,185,304 tests.

There are 22 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 218.

Three patients was admitted to intensive care, and 21 people are receiving medical attention in ICU.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
