
Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 163 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 152 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 138,033.
Out of the 163 new cases, 129 are community cases and 34 from travellers returning from abroad.
So far, 240 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 140,516 and there are 2,243 active cases under treatment.
5,235 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (13,584 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,154,919 tests.
There are 35 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 256.
No patient was admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical attention in intensive care currently to 24.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
