Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 178 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 218 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 137,494.

Out of the 178 new cases, 133 are community cases and 45 from travellers returning from abroad.

So far, 239 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 140,086 and there are 2,353 active cases under treatment.

4,030 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,468 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,140,455 tests.

There are 29 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 262.

No one was admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical attention in intensive care currently to 30.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
