
Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 206 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 132 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 141,147.
Out of the 206 new cases, 152 are community cases and 54 from travellers returning from abroad. All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The Ministry also announced one death - aged 43 years old- who was receiving the necessary medical care.
Till now 245 people have died due to the virus.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 143,428 and there are 2,036 active cases under treatment.
4,402 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (9,292 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,231,890 tests.
There 45 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 265.
Three people were admitted in the ICU taking the total number of people receiving treatment in ICU to 28.
While the first phase of Covid-19 vaccinations has started in Qatar and in the coming months it will be available for the public for free, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
