Doha: Discover Qatar has updated quarantine requirements for passengers coming from United Kingdom, Denmark, Netherlands and South Africa from December 22, 2020. 

These arrivals will have to book for seven-night self-funded quarantine packages in 4 or 5 star hotel accommodation. Intercontinental Doha Hotel (5-star) and Mercure Grand Doha (4 star) are the dedicated hotels for these passengers.

Arrivals into Doha on flights from the United Kingdom, Denmark, Netherlands and South Africa must have a reservation for a UK, DK, NL or ZA exclusive quarantine hotel.

“You will not be permitted to board the aircraft without a UK, DK, NL or ZA exclusive quarantine hotel voucher if your booking was made on or after 23 December 2020,” Discover Qatar website said.

Pre-approved QID resident permit holders are able to apply to travel to Qatar. You will need to obtain approval to enter Qatar by applying through the Qatar Portal. Applications for a QID return visa are now open.

If you are not on a flight from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark you should not book either of the hotels for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar; you will not be permitted to check in unless your boarding pass states your journey commenced in the UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark, and you will not be entitled to a refund.
