
Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) warned people about thundery rain accompanied by strong wind and poor visibility at some places in the country in its weather report today.
Hot daytime with local clouds is also observed for today, with a chance of thundery rain by the afternoon.
On Twitter, QMD mentioned that local cloud development was observed in some areas of the country with a chance of isolated rain may be thundery at times during noontime.
"The chance of local scattered thundery rain expected to improve tomorrow afternoon," QMD added.
QMD, on Twitter, also shared a video of a dust storm (Afour) which was detected in the Al-Mufair area.
The wind, inshore, is expected to blow from southwesterly at less than 5Kt and will shift mainly southeasterly to northeasterly at 5-15 KT reaching 28 Kt at places with thundery rain.
The wind, offshore, is expected to blow at 5Kt at some places at first and will shift to southeasterly to northeasterly at 3-12 KT, gusting to 16 KT, at some places by night.
The sea heights for today, inshore, is 1-2ft and will rise to 3ft at some places by night. For offshore, the sea heights will vary between 1-3ft and will rise to 4ft at some places by night.
