The inaugural edition of the first-of-its-kind exhibition was held under the Patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, and was inaugurated by the Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Ali Bin Ahmed Al Kuwari.
Build Your House 2020 saw the participation from 120 exhibitors and was visited by over 8,600 visitors over 3 days, 90 percent of which were Qatari nationals.
Founded in Qatar and specially designed to the local market, the exhibition focuses on assisting Qataris to understand the processes and procedures involved in building their homes.
The exhibition serves as a collaborative platform that connects visitors, contractors, consultants and suppliers who showcase their unique industry-related products and services.
The biggest highlights of this year’s exhibition were the 30 hugely popular workshops and seminars held by experts from various ministries, government entities and industries.
The topics for the workshops and seminars varied from Islamic finance and legal aspects for contractual contracts to architectural and interior design. The experts also offered tips on home decoration and design ideas.
Rawad Sleem, General Manager of NeXTfairs, said: “In the second edition of Build Your House we are determined to build on the success of the previous show. The first edition of the show attracted a large number of consultants, contractors and suppliers representing the full universe of the construction sector. Thanks to the Qatari government who has allocated the largest budget for Qatari nationals of QR10bn annually. The state approved a budget to support long term loans for more than 50,000 Qatari families, at an amount of approximately QR1.2m per person, and 2,400 housing plots will be issued throughout the year. Our show generated an estimated value of QR400m worth of deals signed during the exhibition. Thus asserting Build Your House 2021 to be a destination of choice to companies that wish to be where business happens.”
Build Your House 2021 promises to be an expanded version, looking to attract more exhibitors and expertise in consulting, design and contracting, in addition to two new services that will be introduced. This edition will introduce new sectors, General Services & Smart Solution Technology companies, which will provide the visitors with more benefits and solutions needed for their residential projects.
Build Your House 2021 will also see a selection of international exhibitors joining the host of local exhibitors, and all the participants. The international exhibitors will be joining to encourage competition and to offer visitors a larger selection of choices, as well as bring in up to date products and technologies to the show.
The exhibition will also host an exciting pre-show, where organisers will host monthly webinars covering engaging, relevant and informative topics of high interest to the Qatari audience.
Knowledge sharing will continue during the main event with exclusive Continuing Professional Development workshops that will allow participants to build partnerships and establish connections with industry leaders and professionals as well as obtaining certificate of participation. A dedicated zone for young Qatari designers to showcase their creativity and bring their art to life will also be provided during the event.
Sleem added: “Build Your House 2021 is poised to give the industry a push that it vitally needs. We are very grateful to our partners, sponsors and exhibitors for their constant and unwavering support throughout the first exhibition and hope to have their continued patronage and backing through Build Your House 2021 and together mark a bigger success.”
