Throughout the week, the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) predicts rain - of varying intensity - will fall in different parts of the country. After last week’s huge downpour, Doha is likely to see more rainfall on Monday and Tuesday.

QMD has issued a warning to expect thundery rain, along with strong winds on Monday. The weather across the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times. There is also the chance of scattered rain accompanied by heavy thunder.

There are likely to be temperatures between 25°C and 31°C in Doha.

Inshore winds normally blow northwesterly to northeasterly at 5 to 15 knots, going up to 30 knots when thundery rain occurs.

Offshore, the winds will blow in the northwesterly to northeasterly direction, between 3 to 13 knots gusting and up to 18 knots at times.

Qatar has seen some heavy rains and waterlogging in different parts of the city. While some people celebrated by rowing kayaks on the streets, others, like a food delivery driver, were seen going about business as usual.

While some malls reported flooding and the ceilings of others dropped to the ground, the rains and thunder were well documented.

In spite of the floods, large vehicles were still able to navigate the underpasses.
